On November 4, 2008, all issued and outstanding shares of Correctional Mental Health Services, LLC (CMHS) were acquired by Conmed Healthcare Management, Inc. (CONMED). 

As a result of the acquisition, CMHS became the primary managing and clinical entity for all of CONMED’s mental and behavioral healthcare needs, and its services can be provided to facilities in conjunction with CONMED’s somatic healthcare services, or as a stand-alone mental health service to any Facility.

At the time of the acquisition, CMHS had 15 mental and behavioral services contracts in 13 counties in Maryland, with many of them having been as a sub-contractor to CONMED.

Together, CONMED and CMHS bring the highest quality, most comprehensive, fully-integrated and cost-effective mental health and somatic healthcare services to the correctional community.
